GLFM

Welcome

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Guiding Light Fellowship Ministries online. We hope that our website highlights the wide variety of praise, fellowship and service opportunities available. For those who may not have an understanding of what is meant by being a "NONTRADITIONAL CHURCH". First please understand that this is not presenting us as a "Denomination". It is a way of character and walk of life. Meaning : To not be conformed by ways that have no substance, or have not any confirmed evidence of support, or not continuing the patterns of doing something because its the norm of what people have been doing for years, to decades, to centuries. To make every effort to be not guilty of those like-minded in Isaiah 29:13, Matthew 15:7 - 20, and Mark 7:5 - 9  Our effort and purpose as a true believer of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is to not be conformed to ways of man made structures, ordinances, practices, doctrines, laws, traditions, and ways of life that are not founded and confirmed by the Word of God from the Torah or scriptures. There have been many practices that have been placed in the church that has corrupted the main purpose of the function of true ministry. The New testament instructs us as leaders of the gospel to TEACH God's word in the same manner as Christ came to teach. Teaching is defined as:  "to show or illustrate to someone how to do something or accomplish something". Christ came to show us the right way to be able to enter the kingdom of God. For Christ said that He is The way, The truth, and The light and that the only way to get to the Father is thru Him (meaning to pattern ourselves in the walk, talk, character, and practices of Christ himself). Please feel free to read more about our ministry on this site, or better yet, come in for a visit. We would love to greet you and share with you our love for God, Christ, The Holy Spirit, and for you, our neighbor.

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our Ministry. Our mission is to be fully devoted to the ministry of Christ by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man, woman, and child at every opportunity.

Through works of charity and opening our hearts to listen and love. We believe that we are walking in the footsteps of Christ. That this "Ministry” (GLFM) is made up of a membership body of fellow-shipping  “CHURCHES”

(meaning believers of God of which He dwells in and is operating in their lives which is not a building made by man's hands of which the spirit of God does not dwell in) to be a “Light” unto the Gentiles and to the nations.

(Isaiah 42:6)

The Youth

GLFM takes great pride in the youth of our nation. We are not just concerned about the youth in our primary living area, but all youth of every creed, race, and background. We acknowledge the fact that the youth are the epitome of the future. Therefore the future lies in the task and effort to give directions, inspire outlooks and visions, promote guides that uplift them towards excellence, in life as they grow into maturity to allow God as their counsel in leading their footsteps.

The youth will carry their own service in Youth church conducted by Elder Ricky Horton (Youth Pastor) during Primary & Alternate services.

Message From The Pastor

Let us take a look at the comparing of Hosea and Gomer to Christ and the Israelite. When we are asked..."What is Prostitution" ? The first reply would be ..."That it is a person that trades off their body with sex in exchange for monetary paid services". This may come as a surprise to many. This reply is not the definition of "Prostitution". It is an act of prostitution. The definition of prostitution is.."The act of a person who accepts money for sexual services, or sells their integrity (oneself, one's artistic or moral integrity, etc.) for an unworthy purpose. Also recognized as Debasement (which is voluntary self punishment or humiliation in order to atone for some real or imagined wrongdoing). Words have factual and foundational meanings (definitions). Facts are Truths and vice versa. So When the scriptures teach us the parallel of Hosea and Gomer to Christ and the Israelite, we can see how we have prostituted ourselves to a pimp (Satan) by lowing ourselves to sin. And just like Gomer, many times even as a believer, we are determine to leave out of the comfort of love and dwell in places or actions that that degrade who we are. For Gomer, her self-worth and image. For a believer, our spiritual image, character, and representation of proclaiming that the Holy Spirit lives in us. God has labeled us as prostitutes and whoremongers in his eyes when we exchange our worth and values for anything other than what God has instructed us to live. And just like Hosea, God commanded His son, Christ, to come down to Earth and go get us (the prostitutes and whoremongers) and love us. God even instructed Christ to pay the price to save us in the same way He instructed Hosea to go the second time and pay whatever it cost to free her from the chains and bondage of slavery of which Gomer herself brought upon herself. Now pay attention: God didn't ask either of them "how they felt about it", but commanded for them to go get an undesirable prostitute and marry her (them in regards to the sinners). Despite how either of the two felt, both of them, Hosea and Christ, were completely obedient and faithful. Some might debate this, but Christ, just like Hosea, was not as desirable to pay the price for someone who didn't seem to show that they were not as sincere about any claims to be a faithful mate or believer. How do we know this ? Well, Christ pleaded three times to God (His Father) that He would not have to pay the price (to be whipped till His skin tore and ripped off so bad that He was beyond recognition, tortured, spit on, embarrassed, degraded, hit on, stabbed, nailed, and crucified) for atonement of our sins and provide salvation of restoration of our souls. But we find in John 14 that Christ states that because of His obedience and love for His Father that He sacrificially does exactly what His Father tells Him to do. Isn't it good to know that Christ loves the Father so much that He paid the price for us (who didn't deserve it) to have an opportunity to an everlasting inheritance of the kingdom of God.
